Day Out with Thomas 2013

These photos were taken back in April.  I'm still trying to post in chronological order and you can see how much of a backlog I have, haha.  When I found out that Day Out with Thomas was happening in Essex, CT, I knew we had to take Harvey.  He's obsessed with Thomas!  See how he just keeps looking at Thomas?

And here he is with Sir Topham Hatt, again not looking at the camera.

Father and son spent a LOT of time looking at this setup.  Not that I'm complaining since that gave me time to browse around the gift shop, heh-heh.

I had to take a quick shot of all the strollers.  Clearly, there were many many kids that day, some too young to enjoy Thomas at all, but still brought along by their loving parents.  I think Harvey was just on the edge of being too young, but I think he had fun.

He was quite scared when the tattoo was being applied.  He was crying so much that the teenager applying the tattoo looked even more scared than Harvey and probably thought I was an evil mother for forcing my son to get a tattoo.  Afterwards, of course, he was fascinated and couldn't stop looking at his hand. Until now, he still occasionally points to his hands to indicate he wants another tattoo.

The Thomas hat was a gift from Ninang Daphne, and this was one of the only times Harvey wore it.  It's difficult getting him to wear anything on his head.

"Mama, why isn't the train moving yet?"

"Papa, look!"

By this time we were all tired and hot, so we decided against lining up to take photos with Thomas.  The line was so long and we figured we should just stand outside the enclosure and take photos there.  I think that was a way better choice, right?  When Harvey's older, maybe we'll actually line up and take proper photos..

Happy 24 months (+ a few days!) to my darling boy.  I bet you're glad these monthly photos are over, right?   I don't regret them for a second.  I'm glad I was able to capture these moments and am looking forward to placing them all in one book for you to peruse when you're older.  As you can see, you're currently enamored with apples, or as you call them, "ah-po".  You love fruits and vegetables, which is why it's not easy for you to gain the weight your pediatrician says you should, but Papa and I think you're perfect the way you are.

Now that you're two, you giggle everytime someone asks you how old you are.  Just keep being your happy cheerful self as you grow up.  We love you!

Look how thrilled Harvey is to show off the bucket of goodies he got from the hotel.

The view on the way to the beach.

It's not everyday you turn two, so Harvey officially celebrated with a tiny sip of Mama's frozen mojito.

Afterward, he happily played with the sand, while sitting on a towel and keeping his body from touching the sand.  My funny boy.

"Mama, this bread is yummy!"

It's not very clear, but there are two candles on the cake. Harvey wasn't too impressed.  He preferred his apple.

Then it was time to leave sunny Miami and return home to cold weather back home.  Papa is taking a last little bit of refreshment for the drive to the airport.

See what it takes to change Harvey's diaper and dress him when he's distracted with other things.

Today was Harvey's 24th month, and clearly he did not appreciate having his photo taken.  We gave up and decided to take the more traditional photos when we returned home.

After the boat ride, we decided to just explore our hotel.  We got there just in time to see them serving free snacks and drinks.  For the Filipinos out there, doesn't that guy in white on the left look just like Maurice Arcache?

I took this photo to serve as inspiration for our next home.  I want a lounge area just like this, with perhaps the addition of some shade.

Harvey still refused to leave the safety of his stroller to try walking on the sand.

P3150346

This freaked me out everytime I walked past it as i kept thinking it was a real person.

P3150347

This was the second of two pool areas at the hotel.  The other one was completely free of people.

And these roses were on the entrance table of the hotel and stopped me dead in my tracks whenever I saw them.
