I know Harvey is way too young to play with these, but I wanted to post these as a reminder to myself for when he's a bit older. There are so many interesting baby toys out there nowadays that it's easy to get overwhelmed. This Tegu Discovery Set looks like ordinary wooden blocks, but they actually have magnets inside.
Look at all the cool stuff you can make with these! I like that these are made with sustainable hardwood from Honduras and that the company gives you the choice of either planting twelve trees or sending a child to school for a day for every toy you purchase from them. You get a toy that can stimulate your child's imagination and also looks like it could last for generations. Sure, you can purchase cheaper plastic blocks out there, and I'm not saying I won't buy some of those as well; but this way, I get something really nice and at the same time get the satisfaction of having helped someone.
Below is a video of how Tegu got its start. Watching it inspires me to get off my butt and start a business that also helps other people.

ReplyDeletei know, right? I kinda want a set myself :D
ReplyDeleteThat's really cool! I think I'll buy a set. Medyo mahal though but I guess if one set means a happy baby and 60 new trees and kids in school, then it's worth it!
ReplyDeletePut up a business na! Hubby and I did, to support leather craftsmen in Batangas. It's cool! Everyone benefits!
Frances, let me know how you like it. I'll wait for V's opinion before I buy it for H!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the satchels, by the way. I think you're doing an amazing job!
