When I was in school, my favorite subject was always Reading and Language. Math came later, when I was switched to a different class and separated from all my friends, and had no choice but to pay attention, but that's a different story altogether. I remember one of my favorite lessons was when we learned about collective nouns. Yes, I am a nerd. I was fascinated to learn about a school of fish, a gaggle of geese, a flock of seagulls, etc. Who knew that there were more collective nouns than the common ones most of us know?
A Zeal of Zebras: An Alphabet of Collective Nouns is perfect for kids (
and even adults!) because the illustrations are so pretty that you kind of just get sucked into learning without realizing you're doing it!
Yet another in a long list of books to get for Harvey. And he's not even talking yet!
