We've been feeding Harvey in his Bumbo or in his bouncer, and while convenient for us, I think it's time Harvey had a real high chair. There are so many choices out there now that it's really hard to decide! Every year there seems to be new releases that are better, prettier, more efficient, etc.
I really like the Stokke Tripp Trapp because of its adjustable seating height. Harvey can use it from now till he's an adult. The photo above shows it being used from babyhood to toddlerhood to adulthood, and having a piece that can be used for life somehow justifies the price, right? :)
Unlike most highchairs, the Tripp Trapp does not come with an attached tray. Stokke believes that the whole family should eat together and their chair is made to pull right up to the dining table so baby feels involved. I do agree that the entire family should eat together, but I miss the idea of having a tray for baby to practice eating and also to contain whatever mess he makes.
The Tripp Trapp comes in a range of colors, which is both a good and a bad thing for an indecisive person like myself. Offered too many choices, I just can't decide which color to get! I played around with the choice and came up with the combination above, but I'm not a 100% sure of the gray chair. Maybe I should just stick with the natural wood color? Any opinions?
I still think the Stokke Tripp Trapp is a great classic option, but I still want to look at other highchairs.
We have the Tripp Trapp but I can't tell you how much we like it or not since Alice is still too little to use it (your baby needs to sit by itself first..."sadly", Alice decided to invest her time in crawling and not sitting). Anyway, it looks pretty awesome in my dining room...ah ah ah!
