I confess, I chose this Skip Hop Treetop Friends Activity Gym because of its design and not too garish colors. Plus, their website says it has 17(!) developmental activities! Luckily, Harvey took to this mat immediately. When these photos were taken, all he could really do was stare at the toys hanging above him and maybe spend a few minutes doing tummy time. Now that's he's older, he's discovered the fun of grabbing the various toys above him. But that I shall reserve for a future post since I'm trying to do this chronologically.
Oh, as to the quality of the play mat, I really like everything about it, except for one thing. The mat itself feels a bit too thin. I wish it felt a bit thicker for Harvey's comfort. What I've done to make it softer is I actually lay the play mat on top of the baby quilt that came with his crib bedding set, which makes the play mat feel a lot more plush.
