I've been a bookworm since I was a kid, so when I saw this on the BuyModernBaby blog, I just had to share. I've also been wondering, when are you supposed to start reading books to baby? I have the bookshelf up in the nursery, but there are no books in it yet as I just don't know where to start. My cousin J was sweet enough to send baby H a Beatrix Potter collection book, but that's probably a bit too advanced for a newborn, right? I'll have to look for a copy of Goodnight Moon pretty soon, and I'd love to hear any suggestions as to what books we should have on hand for baby H.

Dr Seuss?? :p
ReplyDeleteI actually have a set i ordered from Gilt. :) But doesn't baby H need small books he can hold? Oh well, that won't be for another few months anyway since he probably can't hold anything immediately after he's born.
ReplyDeleteDan and I were talking about that this weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe decided (you know, with AAAAALLLLL our experience...ah ah ah ah) that it is never too early to start reading books to a baby. Even if the baby doesn't understand the story, it is the sound of your voice, the special moment between you and your baby, the little ritual, etc.
Have a lovely week. xox
