There was
an article in the New York Times last week about food pouches and how parents have taken to feeding these to babies on the go or as sit down meal replacements. There's concern that we're losing the structure of dinner at the table and that we're teaching our kids to be as rushed as we are.
I must admit, none of these thoughts even entered my mind when we first started feeding Harvey these pouches. All I was concerned about was that these were organic and looked easy enough to pack with us when we traveled with Harvey to Europe last year. He had just started solids and I wanted to make sure he would have something to eat aside from milk.

This article made me think about how I use these pouches. We definitely always bring some with us whenever we travel. At home, most of the time, we feed Harvey food that we prepare ourselves, but I admit, sometimes it's easier to fall back on these pouches when he's being particularly fussy about eating something. I worry that he's not getting enough to eat, so I figure eating these is better than eating nothing at all, right? (Talk about a guilty conscience, haha.)
In any case, this was more of an excuse to post photos of Harvey than really commenting on the article. This was actually the first time he tried sucking from the pouch itself. Normally I squeeze the food into a spoon and then feed him from there, so this was a new skill!
